Start With the Type of Arrangement
Different arrangements require different rose densities, so your starting point should always be the specific pieces you’re building.
How Many Roses Do You Need Per Arrangement?

Cake florals typically use 6 to 12 roses depending on cake size and design complexity. Welcome signage and entrance décor can use anywhere from 10 to 30 roses. Restroom or lounge area accents often use small arrangements of 3 to 6 roses each.
Always Order a Buffer
Even with careful calculations, it’s standard practice to order 10 to 15 percent more roses than your calculated total. This buffer accounts for stems that may not meet quality standards on arrival, last-minute design changes, or unexpected additions to the order.
A Sample Calculation
Let’s walk through a mid-sized wedding with 150 guests:
Bridal bouquet: 18 roses. Bridesmaids (4): 4 x 8 roses = 32 roses. Ceremony arch: 80 roses. Centerpieces (15 tables x 8 roses): 120 roses. Boutonnieres (6): 6 roses. Cake florals: 10 roses.
Subtotal: 266 roses. Adding a 12 percent buffer brings the final order to approximately 298 roses.
