Growing Conditions: Premium Andean Terroir
Flor Hermosa cultivates fresh-cut roses in Tabacundo, Pichincha—an agricultural region situated at an altitude of 2,850 meters in the Ecuadorian Andes. This geographic location provides a temperate microclimate with roughly 12 hours of consistent, year-round equatorial sunlight. The high altitude naturally slows the development of the flower buds, allowing the plants to produce exceptionally sturdy stems, thick foliage, and massive, vibrant heads. Enriched by nutrient-dense volcanic soil, this unique environment serves as the ideal foundation for premium floral cultivation.
From Bud to Bloom:Our Rose Cultivation Process
Every Flor Hermosa rose begins with careful planting in nutrient-rich Ecuadorian volcanic soil, nurtured through close attention to irrigation, soil health, and pruning. Tabacundo’s high altitude lets buds develop slowly, resulting in deeper color, sturdier stems, and longer vase life. At peak bloom, our fresh-cut roses are hand-harvested and individually inspected for size, color, and quality.
From Field to Box: Quality Control & Grading
Before leaving our facility, every shipment undergoes a rigorous, multi-step inspection process. Our specialized grading team evaluates each flower for petal integrity, stem straightness, and absolute color consistency. Stems are systematically sorted by precise lengths and bud diameters to match the strict uniform classifications required by international distribution hubs. Finally, approved flowers are expertly packed to preserve moisture levels and structural integrity throughout the entire cold-chain shipping process
